After a deadly car accident, Max Spencer finds himself in the confusing afterlife, waiting for his kid sister who is in critical condition. While in this state of surprising existence, he learns some interesting realities of heaven and hell, but mostly he learns about a dimension called "The In-Between" where he finds himself trapped with countless other dead people.
Max is surprised to find friendship and support in a living schoolmate who he and his friends used to call “Dizzy Lizzie.” He also finds guidance and direction from an odd, artistic woman and a bitterly sarcastic spirit guide named Bob. During this journey, Max learns how to let go of his life and family and move toward his final purpose - as one of the warriors determined to help the living by fighting off predatory demons and corrupt In-Betweeners.

A message from the author, Wendy Fedan

Picture
I wrote this book for a couple different reasons. One, to write a book that my son and daughter (ages 11 & 13) would both love to read. Secondly, to write through my own grief about losing my father over a year ago (that's him kissing my cheek on the left over there). I wanted to write a story that would entertain in a light and humorous manner (something my dad would also appreciate), but at the same time explore some ideas about the spiritual world that I have wondered about. Fiction is a wonderful avenue in which to explore ideas. My hope is that this book will give peace to many others who are also grieving, showing death as simply a new stage of being and a new beginning.
For the living it feels like death is the end.
For the "dead," it is not the end at all.
